Texas authorities issued a Blue Alert early Friday morning, triggering a statewide manhunt for a suspect accused of injuring a police officer.

Seth Altman, 33, is wanted in connection with the injury of a law enforcement officer. He was last seen in Memphis, Texas, approximately 80 miles south of Amarillo.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Altman is being sought for his involvement in the serious injury or death of a law enforcement officer.

Who is Seth Altman?

Altman is described as a white male, standing about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds. He has blue eyes and red or auburn hair. He was last seen Thursday night around 11 p.m. in the 200 block of South Fourth Street in Memphis, wearing a blue T-shirt and blue jeans.

Altman is considered armed and dangerous. If spotted, authorities urge the public to immediately call 911 and not approach him.

Seth Altman is accused of shooting a police officer Thursday night, according to reports from BNO News and CBS Austin.

The officer was shot multiple times and airlifted to a hospital. Details on the officer's condition have not been released.
